What I’m Learning From Solitude

There are so many ways to run away from yourself. In the past 21 months, I’ve folded myself into things—the bright lights of New York City, into the familiar chaos of parties and events, into the self-inflicted, fulfilling tiredness of being a workaholic.

I'm in a similar situation and I have to say that I hate having to get to know myself like this. I used to love being alone but now I'd rather not deal. It's a process and one that I have not much control over.

I'm kind of the opposite. I'm really shy and introverted, and I am most at peace by myself. I had to learn to open up more and be relaxed spending time around other people.

I bet you never though being alone could empower you so much. Keep going that's the road to freedom but it's one seldom travelled and there are few guideposts to tell you what to do.
