I love all the possible reasons that cats pur. It is clear that it is some kind of communication at times, and that it cool. I also love the suggestion that it is used to help stimulate their bones and to increase bone density since they spend most of their lives crashed out. How practical!

Such an interesting and informative article. I always assumed cats purred because they are happy, but it was a great analogy to compare it to human laughter. Also, purr therapy sounds so sweet.
